Can you call and try and add on the return flight to your single?
I honestly think you're going to struggle to check in without it.
Its worth a phone call enquiry at least.
If not, be prepared to shell out at the airport ticket desk.
Hi, I am a born and bred british citizen currently in britain wanting to live in Canada with my wife who is canadian born and bred, currently living in Ontario Canada. We have read that if she claims welfare then she cannot sponsor me period. The thing is she works 4 days a week for 6 hours a day and cannot work more than that as she has a 9 year old child to care of alone. She claims a small amount of welfare to help pay for rent. We also heard that the size of her income doesnt matter at the time of the application so is it possible for her to stop claiming welfare for when she appllies to be a sponsor and does she just have to not be claiming welfare for the sponsorship application alone or through the whole process, including PR application etc.?
Why wouldn't YOU help your wife to pay for rent? Isn't this what spouses should do- help each other?
From CIC point of view your financial relationships with your wife are very strange.

First question.....why don't you send her the money to cover the rent so she doesn't need welfare?.....that part seems sensible to me.
Second question.....you will probably be stopped at the Airport...you will probably be stopped at Customs.....if you are very, very lucky you will get through. But why a one way ticket?....if you are intending to return back to the UK...work to support your wife and family during the PR process.....it would have been cheaper to fly return?
Are you intending to stay in Canada?....if so...you will not have health care...you will be unable to work...your PR application will take at least 5 months Outland and up to 18months Inland. During that period, your wife will have to support you and given that she is short of money, this put an extra burden on her finances. You may get lucky, get a job, a LMO and a work visa but still that takes time and probably happen within the same time frame as an Outland PR application.
So.....my advice would have been.....work in the UK....send in the Outland application...support your wife for the few months needed by not buying airline tickets......get your PR....come to Canada....but that advice is redundant now.....
