I am currently unemployed (since Jan 1, 2016) and plan to submit sponsorship application for my common law partner from outland (abroad of Canada) in March or April 2016. Will being unemployed cause me to not qualified as a sponsor? I'm living off my savings, have no debt and doesn't have financial problems even if I have to stay unemployed for at least 2 years. Do I need to show CIC my savings amount? What's the qualification amount?

There's no minimum amount or requirement to be employed. Showing your savings is a good idea though, as CIC will want to know how you intend to support yourselves without needing social assistance.

You have nothing to worry about. I have not worked for 2 years and on the question where they ask your income for the last 12 months I put a big fat $0.00.... Just because you will not be working does not mean you cannot sponsor. I have not worked for 2 years but I have savings that support, and plus I am living in a different country where my husband has actually been supporting me. You have nothing to worry about! Good luck!
CIC just wants to know that you will be able to support your spouse should they have difficulty finding work upon immigration etc. So explain your job hunt plan, savings, housing situation, etc. Just make it sound like you can support them while they're getting on their feet in Canada.
