My wife and I got married a 14 months ago, and applied for inland sponsorship (July last year) she is now having an affair and says she will eventually want a divorce.
I have yet to get my PR, and this is causing me all types of stress.
What are my options? From what I can tell I don't have a leg to stand on. As of this point she has not cancelled the sponsorship.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also wanted to add that she has not filed for a divorce yet either.
It doesn't sound like you have any options, unless reconciliation is a possibility. It would be misrepresentation to land as a PR, after being sponsored as a spouse, if you are no longer in a relationship with your sponsor. And even if your wife somehow forgot to cancel her sponsorship and you tried to misrepresent and complete the process, your sponsor must accompany you to the landing interview for inland application. And even if that was the case, your app was received after Oct 25, 2012, so you would receive conditional PR and would have to cohabit with your wife for at least two years after you became a PR.
I'm sorry life has thrown you this nasty curve and wish you the best as you try to move forward from here.
