I have read all the posts in the discussion, but I believe the question I have has not be posed by anyone so far. I wish to sponsor my mother and father. My question is in regards to the minimum income requirement for sponsorship:

For the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, my marital status was single, therefore my family size was 3 persons (mother, father and myself). I meet the LICO+30% for 2011, 2012 and 2013 for 3 persons.

However, in Aug 2014 I got married, therefore my family size now is 4 persons (mother, father, wife and myself).

Do I need to meet the LICO+30% for 4 persons or for 3 persons for 2011, 2012 and 2013? (My status was single in those years 3 years, but only changed to married in 2014).
My wife is a full-time student (unemployed) and she cannot be a co-signer.

Any input would be greatly appreciated and I hope this question helps others too!
Thank you.

Hi

No, this is wrong. You put the given names in the surname box and put N/A in given names. From CIC

What do you mean by surname?

Your surname is your family name. It is sometimes called your “last name.” If your name is spelled differently on your official documents, please write your name as shown in your passport. When filling out applications, type your surname as it appears on your passport, travel or identity document or any letters you got from the visa office or case processing centre where you sent your application (even if the name is misspelled). Do not use initials.

If you do not have a surname on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field, write “not applicable” or “N/A” in the given name field.

When we put NA in given names field...all the headers on every page of IMM 0008 shows the applicants name plus NA everywhere.

Last year they released the forms on Dec 31, two day before they accept the package. How do you guys know the same form and requirement will be applied to this year (2015)?

They will not accept anything received before Jan 2. But if Jan 1 is a holiday, do you know if couriers will be open to accept the mail and deliver it the next day (Jan 2)?

If a sponsor get married after filing parents sponsorship and the family size changes, when they open the file, will they allow spouse to become a co-signer and assess the family size based on new income? Thanks

No courier will be open on Jan 1st as far as I am concerned. Your best bet is to courier your application out on Dec 31st I would imagine.

True ! I just figured that out. If I pay for overnight express shipping I should mail it Dec 31 and it will be delivered Jan 2 (between major Canadian cities)

Put the minimum income of most recent taxation year (2013). I've verified it with CIC call centre agents.

What is IMM 5707E form for? I assume it's an old form for "Additional Family Info". Download latest application package for sponsorship from CIC. The latest Additional Family Info form is IMM 5406.

Anyway, I understand your confusion. I'm not 100% sure but when your spouse fills out her IMM5406; she will need to write her name as the Applicant and your name as the Spouse.

Re: Minimum Income: Thanks for taking the trouble to confirm that we use 2013 amount.

"Additional Family Info" : Yes you are right. I made an error about the form No. It should be IMM5406. Thanks for the clarification

Cheers.

I think you have to meet LICO for 4 persons.

You need to meet LICO for 4 people for all three years (2011, 2012, 2013). It doesn't matter when you and your wife got married.

What if you got a baby after you submitted the application. Does it mean, that person must meet LICO for 5 people for all the years as well or does it start LICO for year baby came until PR is completed?

In all the PDF forms, I am able to save the form and then continue working on them later in the day or next day except for Form IMM5669 (Schedule A Background/Declaration). In IMM 5669, when I save it, I am unable to change any entry or continue working on it from when I last left. Is there something unique about this form? Does anyone else have this experience? Is there a unique way of saving this form which allows me to continue later? Thank you.

I didn't have any trouble saving it.

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

Some agents are very reluctant to answer specific question re: forms. They will want to get away by saying "Everything you need to know are given in the application guide". Some even say that they are not supposed to answer specific questions re: how to fill out forms. It's your responsibility to convince them to answer you. Out of every 3 calls you make; you will get a good agent and correct info.

:)

Could someone help me please? I'm having issues with form IMM5768E - Financial Evaluation.
What do I have to put in box 8 "Minimum Necessary Income"? Is for family of three I have to add a total of $46,354+$45,040+$44,229 from a Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship?
Next question is box 9. If I have e.g. $50,000 in 2013, $55,000 in 2012 and $60,000 in 2013 I have to add them up and input a total of these three (plus total of the same three amounts for my wife since she's a co-signer)?
Many thanks!
