Sponsoring nieces and nephews

Hello, I have a family class sponsorship question.

I am a Canadian citizen. I am contemplating sponsoring two nieces an a nephew. Their mother (my sister), who is a single parent, has undergone a life changing operation which has made it almost impossible for her to support the kids.

Can I sponsor these kids under the family class sponsorship?

I doubt that you can do this unless you adopt them.

That link is for my posts regarding my fiance's nephew for whom he is legal guardian. If you are unable to sponsor them as family, try study permits so they can legally be here and complete their secondary education. Just a thought!
