Hi

I m about to send the application form. My wife has a small doubt in IMM 0008 Generic application.

Space reserved for applicant's photo: Does she need to paster her picture?

Also, How many photos in total are required? In country specific guide it states 6 and for India another 2 photos are required for Appendix C. So can you guys please help me out with the exact number of photos required for my spouse? The application will be sent to Missisauga and it will be processed in New delhi (my wife resides in India)

Any photos of me are required as well? Also, A copy of my passport should be enclosed in the application somewhere? Because in 3904 E in country specific instructions, on A 3 in point 4 it is mentioned as:

Photocopies of passports or travel documents for you, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children. Include copies of pages showing:
• passport number,
• date of issue and expiration,
• your photo,
• name and surname (good name),
• date and place of birth.

Please guide me in this regard. Hope to hear from you guys soon so that I can windup with the application process.

Thanks in advance

best wishes

V

1) Don't paste her picture. That's a space for them to do that.

2) "your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children" means the family members who may want to come to Canada with you. It doesn't refer to the sponsor, even if he/she is the spouse.

3) I'm not sure about the pictures. Follow the country guide. Extra pictures may be needed, so go for the higher number if you're not sure.

Hi Beshoo

Thanks for the response.

How about photos of mine? any photos are required? Should I also enclose a copy of my passport (the first and last pages)? Because in 3904 E in country specific instructions, on A 3 in point 4 it is mentioned as:

Photocopies of passports or travel documents for you, your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children. Include copies of pages showing:
• passport number,
• date of issue and expiration,
• your photo,
• name and surname (good name),
• date and place of birth.

Please confirm. Thanks a lot

Your wife need 6 photos for immigration and 5+2 with negative for medicals.
You dont need to provide any photos.

I hope this helps

They are really not interested in a photo of your or a photocopy of your passport because you are already a PR, so you are not a potential immigrant. If you are in doubt, just send the copies from the passport anyway.

This is the part where they find out about you:

For any family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, send a photocopy of their:
• citizenship certificate,
• permanent resident card,
• Record of Landing (IMM 1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292),
• immigrant visa.

So long as you send one of those things, the passport is redundant. (The photo is too. It's not as if they will be issuing a document for you and need a picture.)

Hi Beshoo and challenger

Thanks a lot for your response.

Challenger--> In the country specific guide, they asked for 5+2 pics and Negative. However for the medical examination my wife did not provide any negative as we were told that Negative is not required anylonger. She had undergone the medicals and received copy form the DMP to enclose it in the application. Is this negative really required? these days everything is digitalized and there are hardly any photographers who are issuing negatives these days.. Please share your thoughts on this.

I have all the documents from my wife and I m about to send my application in missisauga. Is this negative to be include in the application form?

look to hear from you guys

best wishes

V

They need a negative from certain countries (maybe ones that are prone to a certain type of fraud?), but I don't see anything like that in 3904E. It says, "be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera."

Nothing there about sending in a negative that I can see. Do you have an old version of the guide. I would expect the guide to be up-to-date.

It is mentioned in Immigration guide on Page 7.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3999E.pdf

Additional photograph requirements:

Persons living in the countries listed below must also provide a negative and two photos (See Photo Specifications section within this document) for themselves and each family member: Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam.

Why on earth is this required? Dont understand.. However our DMP did not ask for it and her whole medicals was done smoothly and we have received copy 2 of the medical report to enclose in the application.

my QUESTION: DOES EMBASSY REQUIRE THIS NEGATIVE? in that case why is it mentioned in MEDICAL SECTION?

look to hear from you guys

best wishes

its in form 3999E.

for medical, we require 5 photos.

But just after medical, it says, additional photo requirement for people in India, Srilanka, pakistan, bhutan, vietnam requires to provide 2 additional photos with negative. And after this there is section for medical fee.
So I assumed that we require 5+2 photos and negative for medical only. And six photos and immigration.

Any senior member can tell us about the photos.
