Don't snail mail it. Use a courier like UPS not Korea Post. That way you can track it online. AND be sure to use the designated courier address for Missisauga.

With an important document like this, never snail mail it.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks! We sent our application to Mississauga last week and it was received today, according to the online tracking from Korea Post EMS service! See below for how this could be good or could be not-so-good.

Korea Post does have an international courier method called EMS which you can track online to an international destination. We sent it that way because we had friends who also sent it that way with no problems. However, I'm personally regretting it a little because we don't have door to door confirmation. What we do have is a confirmation all the way to the "delivery office" in the Post Office of "L4Y" today at 5:55am. L4Y is the next postal district over from the CPC, according to Google Maps.

My intuition tells me that this is where it was loaded onto the truck to be delivered with all of the other applications they received since Friday, especially since it's doubtful that the CPC office is open at 6am. But, we don't have that peace-of-mind you'll get with an international courier of repute, like FedEx or UPS. It's up to you if that 70 000-100 000won extra is worth it for your peace-of-mind (EMS was 44 000won for a 1.5 kg box). What I didn't do was write the courier address on it, but rather the regular address. Given a second chance, I would have certainly written that courier address, but hindsight's a trip, eh?

Congrats. on sending off your PR! It is very much worth the extra fees to use UPS (or other) vs EMS! Anyway, it all gets there in the end. There is just something about that final tracking update - delivered!

There are certain things where it just isn't worth being a little 'cheap' on and this is one of them. Hopefully it didn't come back and bite you in the ass and the application was delivered.

My samsung korea card worked. If not, go to KEB and get a bank draft. Have it made out to the receiver specified in the guide.

I just used my Canadian credit card. Listen to what K2C said, or call your bank and make sure that your credit card can be used for overseas purchases.

oh ok but we have my wife Canadian Debit card so may be it will work as she have balance in her account there.

I think they (CIC) want you to use a credit card and not a debit card, but it still might work. Definetly worth trying.

oh she have credit card as well now i am trying from this

Agreed. I knew UPS was the way to go but didn't listen to that nagging thought. We were shipping a tonne of stuff from the Post Office in anticipation of moving, so it just came with and got shipped too. Like I said: hind sight's a trip, eh? Here's to hoping that someone learns from my experience.

On the positive, we had a further confirmation of final delivery that afternoon.
