One other thing to remember about organizing your application. When you are finished completing the forms and finally print them out you will get bar code pages for both (i) your application to sponsor and (ii) your wife's application. When you print those, the bar codes will be near the back of the document. You need to take them out of the back and put them as the front pages of your respective applications. In addition, when you pay your fees online you'll get a receipt both at the time of payment and by email which you should print, fill out and put behind the bar code page of the sponsor's application.
I've been focused on gathering/requesting documents for the past 3-4 weeks. I have a rough draft of forms. I'm now doing data entry from draft to form. So, these tips are very handy right now.
Aren't they always? Usuassly you 'register' the marriage on a different date then the actual ceremony.
In my situation we are using the date we registered our marriage because our ceremony was done in Canada the following summer. We had no wedding in Korea.
Interesting question. I don't know the answer but I can tell you that I used my ceremony date. I considered that my "date of marriage". We registered the marriage the following week, but the question isn't what day did you register, it's what day did you get married.
My wife and I consider our register date as our marriage date. Thankfully it was already agreed upon before that her family would come to Canada for the ceremony that summer, and we have able photo evidence to prove it.

Yes, it states "date of marriage". I am going with the date on the marriage certificate. And I'll have a copy of the marriage certificate included for them. I will also write the ceremony date next to the official marriage date. I think no matter which date they will have the marriage certificate to see anyway.
