My boyfriend and I are looking to submit my PR application soon, since we now qualify as common law after living together for a year. However, my boyfriend won't be able to get an Option C printout yet, since despite being 25 years old and having jobs for several years he has never filed his taxes. Apparently it takes at least 16 weeks to process his tax return. He was planning on filing his taxes soon anyway, but I would like to send my application in the next couple of weeks instead of 3+ months from now. Is the only good option here to wait for his tax return to be processed, or would an explanation for why he can't provide the Option C printout be sufficient to include instead of the actual printout?
If I were you I would just wait until you have the Option C Printout.
If you submit the application without a required document (see the checklist) then you run the risk of at best being told to send in the Option C Printout and subsequently having to wait until a bring forward date is reached, or at worst having your whole application returned to you as it is incomplete.
Remember that the whole process takes a while. You have set your visa office to London, so with sponsor approval now at 85 days and processing time for stage 2 at 11 months you are looking at 8-12 months. In my opinion it is better to get everything in order from the outset as any requests for extra information will add to the overall processing time.
Yeah, you are probably right. Having the already long wait delayed by another 3-4 months isn't pleasant, but we don't really have any good options here. Thanks for your insight!
