No, I have not. I was just questioning the logic behind it; I am not familiar with Family Sponsorship category.

The first link is clear, but the second link, which is an official one, does not mention anything about your statement. May be I missed it or did not understand it.

In order to sponsor a sibling, you must meet what is referred to as "the lonely Canadian rule". This means you must be single (no spouse, no common law partner), you cannot have children, both of your parents must be deceased, and you cannot have any other family members in Canada.

But what if your wife doesn’t require sponsorshi? Both of you are in Canada already as citizens, and you want to sponsor your brother as both of you are orphane.

Doesn’t matter. You don’t meet the definition of Lonely Canadian.....you have a spouse.

How old is your brother? It might be possible to sponsor him depending on his age and if both of your parents are deceased.
