Sponsor Police Check - China

Quick question... I am going to sponsor my wife and step-daughter (inland) in a couple of months. Right now we live in China and I have been here for over 4 years. We are getting a police clearance for her while we are here, it's quick and easy, and free, so why not. What I am wondering is, as a sponsor do I need to get a police clearance for my time in China?

Anyone know?

I don't think the sponsor needs to provide a police clearance. As a Canadian citizen, you have the right to be in Canada; only you spouse is in question.

I certainly did not provide a police clearance for my years in Costa Rica, before applying to be a sponsor for my Chinese wife, and I was approved.

That's just what I needed to hear. I will not worry about it then (got enough other stuff to do!). Even if I end up needing it I have loads of friends here who can get it done on my behalf.
