Sponsor brother under 18

I have a brother who is under 18 years of age. I was check rules to Sponsor.

Requirements
brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild who is

• orphaned
• under 18 years old and
• not married or in a common-law relationship

Current my father has passed away but my mother is alive. My mother is not working and I am supporting them. Can I consider my brother in this category.


Can I sponsor him.

You can only sponsor your brother if you sponsor your mother through PGP.

Now have another question. My wife is sponsoring her parents (mother and father) this year. Can I sponsor my mother and brother at the same time? My wife can be a cosigner on my file and I can be a cosigner on her file. We are a family of 4 and in total, we will be sponsoring 4 people (her mother and father and my mother and brother). Both our salary combined is more than 93247 which is good for 8 people.

You can try. Everyone keeps saying they will sponsor their parents this year but really you are attempting to sponsor since the sign-up hasn't happened yet. Your income needs to be able to cover 8 people for the 3 past years.
