My spouse is on Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) work permit with maximum duration of 5 years completing in Dec-2025. I have a SOWP. If I get a LMIA work permit from another employer, for let us say 3 year duration, can I continue to work in Canada till that work permit is valid?

So you plan to apply for closed work permit. What NOC for LMIA? High wage? There are many changes to LMIA so don’t count on 3 years, and employer must be eligible.

Low wage is one year closed work permit now. How is employer eligble with current rules? Assume you are in a remote or rural area so unemployment rates are not a factor and capped. What will spouse do? Stay as a visitor.

So now that low wage LMIA is very difficult to secure look in rural and remote areas. What is point of staying in Canada with low wage job for another year that is not eligible for EE?
