if you have approved study permit then you can apply anytime but make sure spouse has active full time student status

If you are studying with aip then you cant apply for Sowp bcoz Aip is not a study permit

But after 2nd stage approval and student still study online and outside than ?

in that case it depends on Visa officerbcoz they look into family ties , emloyment, financial support

Need your kind input.

I am in canada ...a full time student in an approved institute..

I want to apply for my family...my wife and two kids

1. I dont see any medical forms for my kids... Just my wife...
2. How long it takes to get the medical exam letter?
3. The visa type for my wife be Open Work Permit....and for my kids it should be VISITORS ? right ?

1. Medicals May or may not be requested after you apply
2. Wait times to have a medical exam depends on the doctor’s availability.
3. Yes. Would warn you that permits/visas are not guaranteed for families of international students. If approved they will need special permission to travel at the moment.

I just read here that "Visa offices processing temporary residence applications made outside Canada by minor children who want to study in Canada should consider them as students and not as visitors, even when they are accompanying a parent who is authorized to either work or study in Canada. In other words, a study permit is required, unless they are exempt from requiring one pursuant to section R188."

My spouse's permit till 11th November 2020. Currently I am living in Melbourne Australia so can i travel to Canada before expiring my visas. I have Job offer letter as well

How did you get a SOWP if your partner’s permit expires on November 20? What
permit does your spouse have? Makes no sense to relocate to work for 1-2 months.

What is the course completion date mentioned in the acceptance letter or offer letter provided by College? If it is Apr or May 2021, I think you can still apply for SOWP as you still have 8 more months for your visa expiry.

I am almost in a similar situation my program is ending in Dec 2020. My course completion is mentioned as May 2021, accordingly my study permit is valid till Aug 2021.

Same , medical passed on 8th June. After that no update yet. Is there any update from your side please reply.

Hi Manpreet, thanks for continuous update. I had a question. My husband is started his course online and will be travelling in Jan . We are thinking of applying SOWP for me now so that I can travel with him. I guess you are also in same situation. If possible could you share your LOE/SOE please. It will be of great help.
