Can someone please advise.
Is SW1 category for workers who have 1 year experience and job is on the NOC list and
SW2 for workers with AEO?
I applied on March 08, AOR on June 08 with AEO and heard nothing since.
I ordered CAIPS notes which indicated BFD of june 09, however I noticed that my IMMCAT shows as SW1. Shouldn't my category be SW2 and fall in the fast track queue since AEO are processed faster. Do u think that by Buffalo have me under category SW1 is placing my file in another queue where my job offer is not on the NOC list. I saw people on trackitt with AEO who applied long after me and already got the PR.
Can anyone share their knowledge on this please. Should I contact Buffalo or what should I do?

Thanks

If you go to http://www.caipsdirect.com/CAIPS-Translation.html and look for SW1, you will find that it just means skilled worker and has nothing to do with the category.

Thanks for the response and the link is very useful and informative, however I do know what SW means. My question is basically that SW falls into three categories SW1, SW2 and SW3. For the definition of each please sse the link below.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp
Now on CAIPS notes under IMMCAT if I have AEO I am suppose to be SW2 category 2, as per the definition of SW categories. Mine shows SW1. I am under the wrong category and maybe my file is on another queue instead of the arranged employment queue which is processed much faster. Do u think I should contact Buffalo or do u think this is a reason for the delay in my file processing? I applied since March 2008. Received AOR but nothig else.

Thanks.

Where does it say on the CIC or CAIPS website that CAIPS uses SW2 and SW3 to refer to FSW applications under category 2 and 3?

I am guessing that CAIPS is a lot older than the 3 FSW categories and that they have used SW1 to mean skilled worker for years without it having any indication of FSW categories that did not exist at the time.

If you click on the link to the PDF file at the CAIPS url I gave you, they have examples of CAIPS sheets in there. If you take a look at it, you will see that the dates on the example for the people applying for FSW are all before the new rules but their immigration category is still listed as SW1.
