Sister Sponsorship

Hi

I have a question.. I am permanent resident of Canada and holding Ph.D. degree, working in University of Toronto. I had my parents and one sister aged 8 years back home. I want to sponsor my family. For the parents i am thinking to apply super visa after next years tax filing. But on the other hand when i look for my sister i came to know there are conditions....
1- I can sponsor my sister only if she is orphaned?
2- Can i include her in my parents sponsorship application as their dependent child ( as she is less than 19)??
3- Additionally if option 2 is workable then i have to wait for parent sponsorship reopening by CIC as for the time being it is stopped?
4- If i apply for my parents in February 2016 for super visa can i apply for the family sponsorship in April or may 2016 as well (while they would be waiting for super visa decision)

Waiting for your kind reply.... By the way my family is in Pakistan. I have wife n two little daughters as well (with me in Canada on PR).....

You can sponsor your sister but only as a dependent in an application to sponsor your parents. So yes - you will have to wait until the parent/grandparent application process re-opens again next year before you will be able to submit an application. No - you will not be able to apply to sponsor your parents in April or May 2016. Only 5,000 applications are accepted starting in January and this year the cap was reached in a day and a half. If you want the application to be accepted next year, you will have to submit it so that it arrives the first business day of January. Otherwise you can expect to wait until 2017.

Note that your parents can come on a super visa - but your sister cannot. She is limited to applying for a regular visitor visa.

1-Not necessarily, I believe you can sponsor a sibling if you can show you have no other family here. Or, you could adopt her, and in that case her application would be fast tracked

Parents are still alive and can be sponsored.

Thank you - I'm learning here too! Can you clarify, does this mean that before you sponsor a sibling the CIC expects you to sponsor a parent?

it is not possible to sponsor only a sibling (unless you are considered alone in canada and/or your foreign parents are deceased). if someone sponsors a sibling, it's because they are considered dependents in a parent sponsorship OR the minor child is orphaned.

Just to add, if you intend on sponsoring your parents in Jan 2016 and live in any province except Quebec, you'll need to show Canadian income meeting necessary LICO amounts for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Also seeing as this year the parents cap was reached in a day and a half, most likely in January next year CIC will get more than 5000 apps on day 1 meaning they may switch to a lottery system to determine first 5000 apps and nobody may be guaranteed a spot no matter when they mail the app.
