I submitted my PR application under the EE PNP last year, and my current PGWP will expire this year. I have a few questions regarding the process of requesting a new work permit:
Q1: My SINP work support letter indicates an employment restriction (value = yes). Does this mean I will need to apply for a closed work permit?
Q2: Since my PGWP had over 1 year left while submitting my PR application last year, I didn’t apply for a closed work permit earlier, but now I am considering it. However, both my nomination letter and work support letter have expired. Do I need to extend both of them, or just the `work support letter` ? Should I submit the most up-to-date versions of both documents with my work permit application?
Q3: I heard that my employer needs to pay $230 and get an A number. Once they’ve done that, where should I submit my work permit application? (I’ve only applied for a PGWP before, so I’m unsure how to apply for a closed work permit). Any instructions on how to apply for this kind of work permit would be greatly appreciated.
Q4: Is it safe for me to apply for a closed work permit 4 months before my PGWP expires? or should I apply closer to the expiration date? Typically, is the closed work permit issued for one year or two years? Am I allowed to hold both an open work permit and a closed work permit at the same time, with both of them being valid ?
