Single entry study permit to USA

Hi all,

I have single entry study permit. I am planning to go to USA next weekend. Is it possible to me to go to USA and coming back to Canada? If I am not mistaken, if you have single entry study permit, you can go to USA and coming back to Canada as long as not from other countries. Is it true?
