SIN question

Hi, I’m in my student permit, a few weeks ago I was hired by a small company, the job is purely remote work because of covid. I’m allowed to work 20 hours/week. They paid my weekly and I realized My employer didn’t ask for my SIN. So I asked them why they didn’t not request for my SIN. He told me that they are still working on the payroll process since they are new have have only 5 in the company. Should I stop working with them or continue?
