I got overall 6.5 band Ielts AC just in reading had 5.5. To secure a seat for a PG program in colleges, agents recommended me take doulingo English Test.
  • I am confused would doubling the result with Ielts affect the chances of a visa
  • Would my file be applied under SDS if I submitted both results ( Ielts and Duolingo )
Please Help me to take further step.

Sorry, but do not fight with each other. If you guys have any information related to my questions kindly comment on it. Thank You

Sorry about not answering your origional questions. I don't think having results from more than 1 would increase you chances of getting a Study Permit. In fact Duolingo isn't even listed as being a qualifying test for a Study Permit under SDS. See this page, it lists the requirements to apply for the SDS stream, if you meet them all then you can use SDS:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ry-residents/study-permits/direct-stream.html

As for it helping to secure a seat I have my doubts about that too, I don't think you get any extra consideration by having 2 tests. Each course outline should specify the requirements and what the acceptable tests are. A course a relative of mine applied for lists 9 different tests.

Thank you for your response.
You are right but I am taking Duolingo just to secure a seat in college and for the rest process, I will use IELTS as IRCC specified for the SDS category. Actually college requirements are different compared to IRCC. What do you think about it?

Is duolingo still accepted at DLIs? I know they were, during the height of the pandemic when students can't book an IELTS exam.

How is 5.5 CLB high enough for SDS?

As per IRCC's new update overall 6 band are required for SDS no matter what score have another modules. But the problem is with colleges, they are asking for overall 6 not less than 5.5 for UG and PG 6.5 not less than 6. So I am lacking with college requirement.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter what I think, IRCC and the schools set their own requirements and that's what you have to go by.
