Should i renew the study permit if i reissue my indian passport

Hi All,

I have a Canadian study permit till Nov 2017.

I am going for reissue of Indian passport this month.

Should i renew my study permit as well?? Or if i have the old passport is it fine?

Will this impact the work permit application.

Old passport with a valid visa is fine. No need to renew visa.

I heard TRV (if it hasn't reached it's printed expiry date) is valid even in old/cancelled passport.

But what about the study permit?

My passport will expire in Sep 2019, study ends around May 2019, I'm planning to renew it around Sep-Oct 2018.

Will it adversely affect the study permit as in when new passport is issued with new number, the study-permit granted on basis of cancelled one gets invalid?In that case I am not allowed to continue studying because of invalid study permit which might deprive me of "full time student"status too.

Need clarity on this please
