Should I renew passport?

Hey guys!

A question for you:-

My wife's passport is expiring in June 2019. However, she would be applying for her study permit for Fall 2017 and her expected end date of study would be September 2019.

Now my question is, should I renew her passport? If I do renew her passport, would it look as dual intent or negative to the CIC? I only want to renew her passport because her expected duration of stay is more than her passport validity.

Bro, Ask the VAC office. I think it would the best thing to do at this situation. They can give you the appropriate info.

Not sure what you mean by dual intent but one thing to keep in mind is that if the passport expires June 2019 then possible the initial study permit or TRV may also be valid until then so would need to apply for an extension with a new passport. Having a passport with years of validity on it is more a positive than a negative and should not be seen as having any intent.
