Passport renewal after submitting the study permit-Help.

I have applied for a study permit, the profile is under review. Anyhow, I have deferred my application from fall 2020 to fall 2021.
I want to renew my passport, as its expire date is in December 2022.
Should I renew my passport after receiving study permit(Visa Stamp)?
Or I can renew now and update it in my application?
If I can renew now how to update new passport details in my application?
Please help!

I also renewed my passport but inbetween the applications . My biometrics done on old passport and PCC GIC acquired from old one. In your case, that's different you need to upload new i294 document and all. I suggest you wait till the decision comes for this application . If it's approved get it stamped and later you order a new passport they will stamp the existing visas on a new passport.
