Should I mention US immigrant visa sponsorship?

Hi, I plan to process my study permit as soon as I receive my CAQ. My program is a master's degree in finance at McGill University. I'm from Venezuela but my dad is american. This year I received sponshorship from him to receive an US green card, which would be available in 6 years from now. Should I mention this in my SOP? On one side, it could show that I dont plant to stay in Canada (which is true). But, could it be seen in some way as a lack of ties to my home country, as I plan to move to the US in the long term?

I would simply state that you plan to reunite with your family after completing your program, as there's no guarantee you will be able to move to the US, only Venezuela, and naturally they are skeptical anyone would want to return there. Hopefully the fact that you're going to McGill helps convince them of your bona fides.

Why do attending to McGill could make a difference in influencing the visa officer's perception? Do different universities have different acceptance rates for study permits?

McGill is a top university so if you were admitted, it helps establish your credibility/genuineness as a student, as opposed to if you wanted to go to some college that admits almost anyone.
