I landed in Calgary Last June 2009, come back to US after completing landing formalities at the calgary air port. I am have my PR card with me and I am planning to go there somewhere next year August 2011 and settle down there.
My question is regarding the goods that I can take when going there. Should I carry only the item that I listed when I landed there first time ? Will that list still valid and checked again at the time entering border ? Will I be submitting a new list since I have been out of the country for more than a year ? I plan to drive and drive a new vehicle which was not included in list of item at the time of landing. Will this be a problem ?
You can bring in the Items you have listed in your original Goods to Follow list in any number of times without any taxes (I doubt whether there is a time limit for this). However you cannot get in any high value items (Example: Car) that was not listed in the GTF list. If you own it (6+ months, I think), you can import but with Duty...
I am not able to answer your question, but I would like to know did you use AVR (automatic visa revalidation) to land in Calgary airport and fly back to US?
Thanks.
