My understanding is if you already applied for SOWP and waiting for the result, you get maintained status https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...s/visitors/implied-status-extending-stay.html

If you haven't applied yet, you need to do a visitor record https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/extend-stay.html

I applied for a visitor's record in October to get health insurance under my spouse and I'm currently waiting for the outcome of the SOWP.

Hi,

Iam currently open PGWP, expiring in April 2025. I applied for inland spousal PR and got AOR email. Now I am planing to apply for SOWP. So for the first question in the application form, I AM APPLYING FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING.

1) Apply for work permit with the same employer
2) Apply for work permit for the first time or new employer
3) Get a new temporary resident permit
4) Restore my status us a worker

which one should I select as it not my first time applying for work permit and also Iam on open work permit at the time,so not sure whether to select apply for work permit with same employer.

anyone knows this or been through the same situation?

Yes it's 24 months now according to the website. Quite unfortunate.

In my case I've gotten the sponsor approval in late December and haven't heard since. On the other hand, we applied for the TRV 'extension' from my wife's Student visa and that was approved within a month.

I know for sure it's not just you because I applied on Sept 8th

There hasn't been any update since.
