It looks like over 75% of December applicants have received AOR now. This is highly frustrating and unfair. Why don't they process applications in the order they are received?
After submitting a complaint, IRCC finally responded to my webform from over a month ago. Their response states "We have received your application on September 30, 2020, and it will be processed according to the date it was received. " Of course, all of us on this thread know this is not how they have been going about things up to now. Perhaps now that they are receiving complaints, this will change.

One data point: my friend applied from China, documents received in Nov 2020, 2 days SA, Dec had medical, approved on 02-24-2021. She was requested to send passport to Beijing office. She will land in May 2021..

I called IRCC yesterday no movement yet applied on Sep 26. Got temporary file number. They say hopefully within couple of weeks, start working on ur application.
You can use your receipt number from when you paid your fees. If it has started, then something will show up. If it hasn't started, you will have to try again on another day.
