Hi @dodogirl, we have very similar timelines. Did you apply from the US? Did you get ghost update like the others?

No, i didnt apply from US. I havent got any ghost updates since October and i was wondering if there might be any issue with my application.

Same here brother, absolutely no update since MEP 16 october.
nothing no email, no ghost update, absolutely nothing... i become a bit worried when i see all people getting the ghost update and me nothing

Hi Folks ,

I called CIC today and asked about eligibility and BG . He said its marked 'Recommend pass' for Eligibility , and they are waiting on criminality record . And he added like ,once they receive criminal record , Security will be initiated .

Can some please help to understand where my application stands ? Should i be very happy to hear 'Recommend pass' or its basic check ?
How long does the Security will take , if i haven't travel to any other than canada?
Am i far from PPR or near ?

After umpteen attempts to call IRCC since yesterday, I was finally able to connect to an agent just now and she said - Eligibility - Approved, Criminality- Approved, Security - Approved, Background check - Approved . She said everything is approved . Final review is pending.


Though my Portal time line still shows - Eligibility still being reviewed and Background check still in progress and I did not get any ghost update either ?

What is to be believed ? Can members please share if they faced something similar and what to expect in terms lead time ahead ?

The online eligibility status will not change until after CIC receives your passport (i.e after PPR). The background may (most likely) or may not change before PPR. But it seems your application is in the final lap of the process. congrats!

Thank you for your response. I am hoping this comes to a closure soon since I desperately need my PPR to come at the earliest due to personal reasons.

I agree. Please call the agent. I had no updates either since Nov 13th and everything still shows in progress on the portal, though on checking with agent statuses were found to be "Approved" and pending final review.

I also asked the agent that but my Portal shows everything is in progress so she said - sometime they are late in updating the status. So please call IRCC to get the exact picture of one's application.

Wow....I have not experienced this but based on what you write I realize one cannot hold agent's word to be the final word. I shall call them in Jan again to reconfirm on my status updates that I got today.

On dec 20 i called cic to check the status of my application and they told me that the PPR email was sent on DEC 3rd which i never received nor my consultant. What should i do next?
As of this my 30 days period to send passport will be over on 3rd jan, and now its the holiday season. What should i do ?
