I don't think this has anything to do with the application progress. I believe they are just introducing a new feature in their website which will give more insight about how much time has passed and when you can anticipate your application to get completed. I got the same email too and am thinking it was a generic distribution to everyone.
Either through your GCMS notes, or by calling IRCC and talk to an agent.

Queue waiting time is approximately 30-45mn on a normal day.
But knowing your VO is really irrelevant with Express Entry, with applications being moved around from VO to VO for processing efficiency.
It used to be relevant when it was paper based, as an application was likely to just stay where it lands because it was a pain to move them around.
Is there a way to connect to this number from USA? When I dial, it routes me to the toll free number of IRCC and then it disconnects saying "this toll free number is not available for your area"

According to the email we all received, we all gonna see a status bar and an estimated completion date. I hope that date relieves almost all our anxieties. Brace for Wednesday.

Try using skype credits. Worked for me no problem...
I wouldn't advise using your cell phone, unless you have some unlimited plan between Canada and US. Waiting time can be really long.

My AOR is Sep 28th and since the date of MEP (Oct 27th), " we are processing your background check and we will send you a message if we need more information".
On Dec 3rd, I received a message in my inbox saying " how to find a job in Canada" but I don't think that means anything. I received the exact same thing after my ITA as well.
Did you call to find out your VO?
Did you check if your eligibility has been met?
