I succumbed and called IRCC again today. The agent told me that my application was approved on Dec 24th.
This time I remembered and asked about my visa office and it is Nova Scotia, Sydney. The agent said the reason why I have not received the email yet is because there is a lot of backlog and if I do not get an email by March 13th (6th month mark); call them again.

This is definitely some relief and we will assume March 13th for PPR and plan things ahead accordingly.

Did you get a ghost update on approval date? Just wanna know if ghost update is a must

How do we order GCMS notes and how long does it take ?

My application was filed by an immigration lawyer, So will he have to order GCMS notes or can I do for myself.

Looks like CIC is taking approximately a month after IP2. Any thoughts ?

I think ip2 means you cleared criminality...cos...according to my GCMS note, i passed criminality on Nov 28 and at same day i moved to IP2...and yes still waiting for ppr...seems security hasnt started yet...yet..

Does extensive travel history delay post IP2 before ghost update. in IP2 since 18th Jan.. no movement after that.

Today morning status changed to IP2 and RPRF has been requested

Please do! I found out through GCMS notes on January 22, 2019 that my application was approved on Dec 10, 2018 at CIO. Don't know how long it will take for the email to be sent out.

No, I don't think I got a ghost update on Dec 24th.

@urstrulyaddy you're right about that. I committed my whole day yesterday to the process. I was at work so I just kept calling, entering my information as prompted and eventually I was put in queue. I started at 10 am and was put in queue a little after 3 pm and finally spoke to an agent 4:15ish CST.

Try tomorrow: +1(613)944-4000. Don't forget to ask which visa office for us!

I have been lucky when I called them starting at 8.00am Ottawa time. I was on wait for 45 minutes.

Finally this update on CIC portal today:
We're done processing your application.

Our COPR couterfoils got generated today. Hopefully we will get our passports back in time.

FYI again, I am US resident and received PPR from New Delhi visa office(No idea why they sent it), and ended up sending our passports to Los Angeles Visa Office on 9th Jan. Still need to receive back passports.
