Hi
I have a question. are you going yo be a dual citizenship?
Because I will be and I was thinking maybe this is the reason that they has kept our file.perhaps they are waiting to be adopted.
Hi everybody,
I called CIC today to ask about my citizenship application status.
The agent who was a nice lady told me that everything is OK but my application is still in Sydney. My local office will send me the letter to write the test in COUPLE of months. The test has to be scheduled in the first 20 (or 24) months after receiving the application. However, she told me she highly doubt that I wait this long.
So my previous guess seems to be reasonable that I would probably be invited to the test in Nov. or something like that.
I usually call CIC every two months so I might call them again in 2-3 months and won't request any ATIP again.
Good luck,
Sazamizi
Hi there,
Yes, I will.
My understanding from all I have seen in my friends' cases and people's applications here, is CIC divides the applications into two or three groups (the reasons are unknown to me - but I believe the home country plays an important role!!!). The first group's files are transferred within 3-5 months to the local office, the second group within 6-9 months and the last group after 9 months after receiving the applications by Sydney. I have no reference for that. It's just feeling based on what I have seen. We are in the third group so we need to wait.
If we don't receive any RQ or fingerprint or whatever we should be done within 18 months or something like that (which is too long for me !).
Best,
S.

how do you know we are in the third group? based on country?I was hoping that we may be in the second group.
Like I said I just guess. I might be totally wrong. I think if they wanted to call us for writing the test, we would have received the letter so far. I am also pessimist a bit

Hope you (and I and everybody) get it very soon.

my 2 cents
CIC has limited resources....so they process a few applications fast ...and the rest just take time ;D......most of the RQ's and fingerprint are sent to just delay the process....to make sure people just keep busy sending RQ's back and stay calm :'(......which applications are processed fast may have something to do with country of origins etc.....
But basically they are buying time to process applications :-* ...... this is just my view

I dont know how I can see my local office. I received a letter which shows my exam address.
Where do I need to look for that?
Is anybody know how I can fallow my responses from the topics?
Which city do you live in? I think you should be able to figure out your office processing from the address on the application ..

If you want to know where your local office is you can call cic. Their respond is more accurate.
What happens if I know my local office?

nothing happens . usually people want to know were their local office is so they can follow their case.
I have a question. does local office always give test date or Sydney can do that too?I mean does always the test letter come after transferring the file?
