Hi,

Question is, how can I send money from an indian bank to canadian bank, while living in Toronto. Since I am moving to Canada, I need to transfer my salary account to Canadian bank through my company. This would take some time, say 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, my salary would get deposited in indian bank, now I need to transfer this money asap to canadian bank account while living in Canada to take care of my expenses. It is easy to send the money through wire transfer but I would be in Canada, so that option doesn't work. Any suggestions or advice would be great. PS. I am a contract employee, so every little thing has to be done by me.

Does this account have an international ATM card? Otherwise, you have to contact your bank because the options are up to them.

Have you looked into TransferWise? I have used it a few times and it worked :)
Edit: This was not from India to Canada, but from another country to Canada. You can still look at the website and see if it is available for india!
