Self -Soft Landing and spouse, Child Will continue stay in Canada

Hi Guys,

Hope you all are doing good. Its good to go thru the threads over here.

I have a question regarding soft landing, After I land in Canada and complete my PR formalities and get PR card, I leave my wife and child in Canada with my Sister ( My sis & family are already PR holder) and I do a soft landing and return back to my work country..off course i will be keep visiting them.

however if i don’t complete my 2 out of 5 yrs AND If they complete their 3 years of 5 years..what are the circumstances..

Will they get their citizenship?
What will happen to my PR ?
Who’s should be primary applicant in such case?
What is the best approach in such scenario please..

What are the risks, Pros and Cons please.

You guys have been great.

If they qualify for citizenship, they can apply. Your status has no effect on that.

You could lose your PR if you don't meet the RO.

There is no primary applicant.

as you are landing together, their citizenship is not dependent on your status in Canada (only if PR was acquired by fraude, then all dependants from such application would loose it as well).
Your wife and child have to fulfill RO and citizenship criteria independently.
