Question for those already landed or planning to land...

When we applied we stated the province that we wanted to move to.... but can we change our plan? Will there be any problems if we eventually land and settle elsewhere?

Would like to know too. Since applying we have researched other areas and we have changed our minds about the place we put in the application. I'm not sure if it matters or not (assuming it's not Quebec).

This is not a PNP program and you are not being nominated by a province, so you should be able to settle anywhere except Quebec. Hopefully you get a decision soon.

Does anyone know how much time it takes to receive Passport Request after medicals are cleared? Those of you on this forum who have reached/crossed this stage, please advise. I have seen some of you receive PPR the day after you cleared the exams, (sometimes same day. It's been more than a week for me now after re-meds. No sight of PPR yet.

For me ,it took 1.5 years. But that was in the midst of the covid pandemic.

A bunch of irresponsible, smug, morons are what these guys are. Whenever I write to them, all they can say is Afghanistan this, Afghanistan that. And now that has changed to - surprise, surprise - Ukraine. Zero accountability, excuses galore. I'm friekin' pissed off with these nitwits. There has to be some sort of accountability.

ACCUMULATION OF FUNDS

You must submit with your application a narrative document bearing your signature and describing how your present financial resources, both family and business, were accumulated. Do not provide supporting documents with the narrative. If necessary, you will be requested to provide supporting documents later on in the process. This document could, for example, present information on the following points:
- Employment income: date, amount and source for each year of employment;
- Business income: amount accumulated while the applicant managed the business as well as dates the business was in operation, share of distributed profits and accumulated profits;
- Investment income: shares, units, bonds (date and purchase price, sale price and current market value), interest, dividends, capital gains (date, amount and source);
- Dates and amounts of each investment made;
- Cumulative gains on personal assets: real estate (date and purchase price, sale price and current market value), other;
- Inheritance, donations and non-bank loans: date, amount and source, accompanied by documents confirming:
· the identity of the donor and/or lender and his financial capacity to give or lend;
· the transfer of sums borrowed and their complete or partial repayment.

Hello, friends! Finally I have the update I've been waiting for. I just received our Pre-Arrival Services letter.

Here is my timeline, for interested parties. I applied under the Authors & Writers designation and I am coming from the United States.

Mailed paper application to NS in late November 2019
12/24/19: Received at IRCC/AOR issued
1/6/20: Requested biometrics fee
1/6/20: Biometrics fee paid via online tool
At some point in summer of ’20, processing status switched from In Process to Application Received.
Nov 22, 2020: in Application Received status, processing time listed as 22 months. (Expected answer by October 2021, but probably longer due to covid)
Jan 14, 2022: Request for the following materials: “newly completed” Schedule A Background Declaration, another original FBI clearance certificate (both provided with the original application, but maybe covid-related delays expired the certificates? Just a guess), proof of self-employment since 12/2019 (when they received my application, so this is just to cover the gap and prove that I’ve remained self-employed all this time) and a request for a medical examination to be completed within 30 days.
Feb 4, 2022: Request for clarification on my husband’s Personal History form as well as form 5446e detailing his military service in the USA.
Feb 7, 2022: Medical exams completed.
Feb 15, 2022: Request to pay biometric fees again, for some reason. Paid ($85 each)
Feb 18, 2022: Request to have biometrics done at USCIS location within 30 days. Couldn’t get an appointment within 30 days, so had to get an extension. Extension granted to April 17th.
March 29, 2022: Biometrics collected at USCIS location.
April 11, 2022: Received Pre-Arrival Services letter

28 months all together!
