i applied for citizenship in july 2019, i was out of canada for 11 months for which i have already submitted Police clearance from a respective country. i called CIC today and the agent replied that my file is pending due to security clearance. its been 18 months. i asked if i can provide any supporting documents to which she repiled that there is nothing missing. what can my next step be. MY PR Card is also expired.
Well, your next step is actually to wait.
Everyone gets a security screening from different federal agencies as part of their application.
If you really want to do something, you can ask for your GCMS notes to see which citizenship requirements have already been checked, but you already know what's pending...
