SDS Passport Requests and Stage 2 Approvals 2020

Ah okay. This thread is for SDS applications. We keep seeing approvals for non-SDS only, and we would like to know when the Edmonton or Ottawa office starts sending approvals or passport requests.

You people are lucky that VFS are open in your country. Everyone has different struggle. You are waiting for PPR and we are waiting for Biometric.

If I waited for a woman for this long, my relationship status must have updated by now.

I am starting to regret going for the SDS route. I should have applied non-SDS. It's raining passport requests here in Manila.

Hey everyone,
I applied for study permit through SDS, with biometrics and upfront medical on July 3rd. Today, October 20th, 2020, I received my passport request letter (IMM 5740) and in my profile in the Final Decision portion it says:

"Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details."

I have no idea which office is processing my application but a day prior on October 19th, 2020 I received a correspondence regarding the validity of my biometrics from the Embassy of Canada in Beijing, China.

Analyst first review your file and then the file goes to VO bases on Analyst notes.

Sometimes Analyst Rejects the file directly without VO reviewing it.

How do we know the difference who reviewed file? I have notes

It shows on the last few pages of your notes, under "NOTES". Check "Office" field.

So in my case primary office is abu dhabi and secondary is shenghai. They kept changing in the past.

In the notes section, all the verification is done via Edmonton cpc or Windsor ircc. Then a note from Edmonton office that SDS requirements satisfied, documents, verified.

After that Edmonton forwarded it to abu dhabi, with text, forwarded to mission for continued processing.

Then notes from abu dhabi that all docs reviewed and satisfied with plan of study. Sending AIP.

Then note from abu dhabi, AIP sent.

Can you help me understand

What's the thing here about secondary/primary and Analyst, VO? I mean there's no update fro secondary office Shenghai. Is it fine?

I have applied in sds from pakistan on 11 september, biometrics done next day.. as u mentioned ur date of eligibilty..
Mine is still showing this-

Will they add a date when they will start reviewing my eligibility?

Wtf whyyyy me too like I woke up several times at midnight just to check the list and nothing came out. I’m really mad and desperate. People waited for a year, while others got approved in one month.

I am happy for them, but like wtf? I have been waiting since June (non-SDS). Others are waiting since March!

Many SDS received approval today from Vietnam. I don’t know which processing office is responsible for sending approval.
