Today I received Notice to Appear to take the Oath on September 6, 2014 in Scarborough..
This is my timeline :
1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 27, 2014.
2.We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on February 27, 2014.
3.We started processing your application on April 8, 2014.
4.We sent you a notice on July 31, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on August 19, 2014 at 8:15 AM
Question:Can I still get a RQ no matter the fact that I received Notice to Appear to take the Oath? :
I have not heard any one getting RQ after the OATH ceremony call. Be positive and you will be a citizen in 2 weeks. I am also attending the ceremony on 06Sep14.
I was worried about my oath and did not know if I can participate in this year election. I was following this forum without registration. Today, finally after getting my Oath date I decided to share my timelines:
- Application received on February 17, 2014.
- Letter acknowledging receipt of application and Discover Canada on February 17, 2014.
- Processing the application on March 29, 2014.
- Citizenship test on August 13, 2014at 8:15 AM.
- Oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony on August 29, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
If you have an RQ or a non-routine app, it will take time. I have heard that Scarborough has a good process for routine application but the process for non-routine is random.
So the best you can do is wait and enjoy the ride!. Or if I was you, I would get a Writ of Mandamus going, you will have it approved in 3- weeks
