I just got a phone call as well as e mail stating that Oath ceremony on Canada day has shifted from Amesbury Park,1565 Lawrence Avenue West, North York, Ontario, M6L 1A8 to Speducci Restaurant,46 Milford Avenue,Toronto ON, M6M 2V8 at 9-30am on 2018/07/01 (yyyy/mm/dd).
Any one from this forum got such notice or phone call?
Nothing to worry about then, as its a legit email.
I hope they offer a free meal too at that Italian restaurant, to compensate for the long wait times and the inconvenience of changing the location days before the event

I have a question, when I have my interview, the officer ask me if I do to renew my PR yet or not? As my PR expired on Oct. I answer yes and the officers put a note on my file said PR request. Does it affect my application? And do you know why they ask me this question and put a note on my file. Please advise! Thank you.
I am an October applicant, and I just saw in my ECAS line 5. that says they sent me a notice yesterday for the ceremony on July 31, buy I haven't received an email or a letter yet. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an email or a letter? Btw, I am in Scarborough, had my test on April 3. Application was received on October 18.

Did they ask if you already applied for new PR card?
Or did they ask are you going to apply for new PR card?
If you already applied, they would put a note that the card is going to be renewed and they will need both of them at the Oath ceremony (the expired and the new one from you).
If you don't need to travel abroad, you don't need your PR card renewed and could only bring the expired one to the ceremony.

I think you answer my question already. They ask me if I have already applied to renew the PR card or not. This is why they put a note on my application. If I get my ceremony invitiation before my new PR comes, do you think I just need to give them the old PR? Thank you.
Second: surprisingly, my status on ECAS was Decision made for past 5 months and now they changed it to In - Progress.... Is it a good thing or bad thing? Please advise

I think it really just depends. There have been other instances where it changed to IP just prior to the oath. I think it’s a system that operates with many exceptions.
