Everything is so ungodly expensive here! I'm headed to the states this evening for my belated wedding reception (yay) and I plan on stocking up on as much as I can 'smuggle' across, hehe

OMG it is unreal how expensive it is... milk is more than double the cost in Edmonton than it was in Michigan.
I never though I would say it but I actually really miss Michigan.

How much is it? I cringe at the thought. I don't like milk but our kids at 3 obviously drink quite a bit yet.

In Mi I would have paid 2.20 for a gallon of skim milk and here it is about 4.50 and there is environmental tax as well as bottle deposit! I dont like milk either but my husband and daughter use it. Not sure if there is deposit in other provinces but there is in Alberta.
I also feel like a dope because I dont know how to recycle every last thing that is recycled here.
Wow, yeah I just paid 2.69 at the gas station here in WI today.
I wonder how much things like soy milk and rice milk are. My son had a milk allergy. We were paying $8 a gallon.
Yeah I can't remember about recycling in Ontario from when I was last there. I think they were still in plastic bags the milk.
Milk in Ontario comes in Jugs, bags, and cartons just like the US.We have the 4 litre jug,the three bags which is 3 litres of milk, and the carton which is 2 litres,a half litre carton,500 ml carton and the 250 ml carton lol.And if you think milk is expensive wait till you pay for feul lol.And its funny everybody complains about spending $4.50 for a gallon of milk then go to the store and pay over a dollar for a bottled water for less than 500 ml.Bottled water is more expensive than gas or milk but people still by it like crazy.
I paid $3.00 for a can of soda from Brazil the other day lol.
Lol, I don't do bottled water.
I'm not looking forward to fuel either. Right now my husband works literally a mile away - and I know that it isn't going to be that nice when we move.
It all has me seriously thinking about not going - there's a lot to weigh.
OH yes that for sure might change, but its just funny that people cry about paying $1.03 a litre for gas then pay a lot more for a litre of water?????Or pay $4.00 for a gallon of milk but if they bought a gallon of water they would pay double that or more.Just funny i guess.
Ah, yeah it's funny how things like that aren't logical but we do complain about it.
I lived in Edmonton for a little bit, don't recall the cost of milk. I do remember gas being a lot cheaper then where I am now. Last jug of milk I bought here in Abbotsford (an hour east of Vancouver, BC) was less then $3.90. Sumas, WA is about 5 miles from my home but I just don't have the time to cross the border to shop.

You found guarana in Canada? If so, where? I've had no luck!

my daughter wanted money for a bottle of water the other day and I only had a toonie so I gave it to her and she came back and said she needed another 30 cents... I asked if she was buying gold and she said no, just a bottle of water... I told her next time she finds the water fountain!
Just wait until they permanently add the HST tax too! I really don't care all that much about the prices. As long as I'm happy with my lover that all I need. But shoot...I'm doing all my clothes, shoes...girl shopping in Oregon. No sales tax or anything. I'm gonna miss it!
Kess: I'm moving to Abbotsford too! I'll be there this weekend

One thing I'm gonna cross into Sumas, WA for all the time is Tillamook cheese and ice cream! Yum!
Oops, I meant that's* all I need. Lol.

Well Alberta has never had PST and from what I understand there is no plan of HST so at least that is great.... I have to go back to MI to get my husband, the rest of my stuff, and take care of some other business so I will be getting shoes, alcohol and other stuff while I am there! LOL
