@parkbr: Any particular reason for not applying ATIP?

- Concern about the ATIP process interfering with your application?
- or something larger or a personal preference?

I just got my test and was informed that I will have an oath 4-8 weeks if everything goes well. I think that is very reasonable time frame.

Also when I applied for my parents' sponsorship, which took quite a long time - but relatively faster for that category - I've never applied for ATIP and didn't feel the need of it. They were processed when the time came. So I am not concerned about my citizenship either.

Where's your office? I got the test invitation 13months after sending an RQ.
Submitted my RQ almost a year ago, no news.
Vancouver office

Thanks @ parkbr...

I see you also maintain a spreadsheet for tracking parents application timelines, great job!

Oh, no, I am not maintaining it. I am just part of the group. =)
I am done with parent's sponsorship about a year ago (i.e. They got their PR last year). I just kept it as my signature as that's where I did most of the posting before.

Oh. I can't comment on Vancouver office, but I hope you get yours soon. Mine took almost exact 13 months from RQ to test.

Can you share a link for that spreadsheet please?

parkbr,

Do you know if it's still possible to sponsor parents. I was told that it can't be done anymore. Also how long did it take your parents to get the PR?

I think it's still not accepting yet. You can check back soon because CIC said they are holding it off upto 24 months since November 5, 2011.
Just check CIC's website and join the Parents sponsorship forum group, if you're interested.

Mine took exact 3 years and 5 months. I applied in early June 2009. (I became PR in April 2009)
When they finally took a look at my file in April 2012, it only took them 7 months to issue PR. I know they were expediting the process to decrease the backlog, and my case was one of the fastest one.

Please PM me if you have any further questions, because I don't want this forum to change into Parents sponsorship. LOL.

In process: January 31, 2013
RQ: March 09, 2013
RQ Send: April 10, 2013
I just received my GCMS Notes. According notes my file has been transferred to St. Clair office for further review 2 months ago ( I received RQ from CIC Mississauga), and nobody notify me, ECAS not updated too. Latest note is saying: Preparing client for interview.EM.
Who knows whats that mean?

I understand it as a good news , test comes with an interview.

Good luck and keep us posted

Hi Everyone!

I am so happy to share a good news!
I just received a letter "Notice to Appear"!! Finally!! It's ALMOST over! I was worried as I am expecting in early February and I haven't heard anything back from them since I wrote my test in October.

The odd thing is that it will be at the Scarborough center. My file always has been with St.Clair.

Anyways, here is the timeline for those who are curious:

applied on Oct 24 2011
CIC received (I got the letter) in late nov 2011
being processed on July 26 2012 and RQ-ed at the same time.
sent the first batch of RQ in Sept 2012 and CBSA report on Oct 2012.
I was told that my RQ was reviewed in Aug 2013 and was told to wait for the next step. They also told me that my file got transferred to Scarborough.
I got a test invitation from St.Clair, my home office. It was on Oct 21.
Lastly, Oath scheduled on January 9th at Scarborough.

For those who is still waiting and upset about their RQ, I am sending you all the good vibes!
