Hi all, thank you very much in advance for your great help.
I've been outside of Canada for 4 years and failed to meet the RO, but I still have a PR card valid until 2021.
My question is that if I were able to enter Canada later this year without being reported, is it risky for me to sponsor my wife (she has a visitor visa and she will travel with me to Canada) right way in Canada, or I should wait for 2 years to do that so as to not to arouse the immigration officer's attention since I didn't meet the RO?
If you don’t meet RO, your wife’s sponsorship application would be refused and they would likely start a residency review and revocation process for your PR. You won’t be able to sponsor her until you meet RO.
You can file for PR for wife under the below specific condition:
you get reported for not meeting RO and the officer/ministers delegate accepts the reasons you give on why you did not meet RO as you enter Canada. This will go on your file. So when you apply for PR for wife, the reviewer will read this and allow the sponsor of wife.
Even having your wife extend her visa after 6 months may draw attention to your status. Not sure how you will have you wife renew her visa numerous times without that drawing attention to your status.

That is incorrect information. An extension app by one person will not trigger an investigation into another person's compliance with the Residency Obligation.
