returning to canada under visitor visa

i came to canada 8 years ago and leaving because my visa was not extended anymore .what are my chances if i apply for a tourist visa from the philippines .since its strict there can i do it on like singapore.i had my visa from singapore 25 years ago.lols.it is so hard to get a visa in the philippines.my 4 year old child is a canadian citizen.reason why i want to go home is to fix some papers and also would be applying outland for the family class.i need to come back in 3 weeks since my child goes to school here

How long ago did you leave?

In theory, if you meet all the requirements (and convince the IO) then there should not be an issue.
