I am going on a trip to Japan with my expired PR card .I have read lots of information that I mostly likely will not allow to board the plane .
I am flying with Japan airline ,my question is if I use the quick online check in service (it said it will generate the boarding pass when I do early online check in ) do I still need to show my PR card when I drop off my baggages ? or it will not compelte my check in until I arrives at the gate and show the gate member my valid PR car

You won't be allowed to board the plane with an expired PR card. You must have either a valid PR card or a valid PR Travel Document to board the airplane home. Doesn't matter how you check in. Same rule applies.
