Requirements for PR card renewal 2019 Oct

Hello,

I have a PR card and its expiring soon.So would like to know,


1)Apart from mandatory stay of 730 days in Canada before applying for Canada PR card renewal,Are there any additional requirements for PR card renewal?
2)Also what happens when our PR card gets expired while under submission for PR card renewal?

Any pointers are highly appreciated.

2)nothing happens other than fact you would have issues being outside of Canada with an expired PR card as you would then need a PRTD if flying back. You could still use an expired card to come back through the US land borderthough.

Some people whop have no intention of ever leaving the country do not even bother renewing their card until they really need to.
