No, my husband was never criminally charged for anything whatsoever. He received help from his embassy to leave the country where he was (where we met).
This is what bothers me so much about our situation. My husband did what he did to strive for a better life and help is family back home. We were honest about his history because we wanted to properly account for our relationship history and not lie as to how we met. This information on our file was NEVER addressed at all by CIC. We were contacted ONCE after the file was opened in Accra to ask for more proof of our relationship. The interview happened a year after filing. The history wasn't discussed. We had a lawyer write statutory declarations that we notarized. They gave all relevant information and backed up our plight to obtain a PCC from South Korea.
I will never understand how, after all this time, my husband's history was never discussed with us. Then to refuse the visa because of it? I will never understand. What a dirty situation. What a mess.

I'M Iin the same suituation, I entered the US illegally, got married to my hubby, provide all details possible, came to guyana for interview and had a refused caips notes, still waiting for the refusal letter, my interview was since in sept, planning to do an appeal
You don't say what sections of the Act and/or Regs that the office used to refuse the application. It should say what they are in the refusal letter you received. Any refusal MUST have a basis in law (IRPA & IRPR) to be justified. Please post or PM me as there could be a small chance of getting a reconsideration or the Program Manager but you have to act quickly.
