Hi everyone, do share your taughts on this, it would be really helpful

I would soon be applying for PgwP inside Canada, however, I want to know if it’s possible to leave for my home country (India) while awaiting a decision ? My TRV is already expired
However, incase my pgwp gets approved while I’m in India, then is it possible to apply for a new TRV in order to reenter Canada ?

Yes all of that is possible, the only issue now is Covid travel restrictions you might not be able to travel back even with pgwp and trv.

Also remember pgwp will be sent to Canadian address if you apply from Canada so you better have someone who can receive it for you.

But isnt it possible to apply for a TRV from abroad with just the approval letter of granting PGWP, rather than having to submit an actual PGWP received at my Canadian Address ?

The permit is one of the required documents, you can try and explain it but then its up to the officer to decide.
