I completed my 2 yrs full time study in electromechanical engineering technician at sheridan college. My study permit is valid upto march 2017 and my passport is expiring in may 2018
so if I apply for work permit, I will get work permit of 1 yr only instead of 3 yrs because my passport is expiring ?
Is it like that my passport cant be renewed before 1 yr of expiry
they will only issue the visa for the length of validity of your passport. your choices are to renew your passport before submitting your application or to apply for an extension of your work permit with your renewed passport before the visa expires. Not all work visas can be extended, so you will want to double check the type of visa you are applying for to see if it's extendable.
