Passport Renewal and Work Permit

Hi, there seems to be little information on this topic so I hope you can help me. Here’s my situation:

• I have a Closed Work Permit expiring Dec 2022
• I have a TRV expiring Jan 2023

I recently renewed my passport because it expires in Jan 2023, and I want to know if I can travel outside Canada and come back even though my Closed Work Permit has the number of my old passport in it (Under the travel document remarks, there is the number of my old passport).

I assume if I carry both passports + Valid WP + Valid TRV, I shouldn’t have any issues at the border?

Any insights would be appreciated, there is no official info on this topic in IRCC or CBSA websites.

Anybody travelled recently with new passport and WP issued under old passport that can share their experience?

Yes that can be done and I have done it recently. Like stated, carry both passports, WP and you are good to go
