Hello everyone,

I am seeking for advice here regarding quitting my job after landing as a PR.
I recently became a PR a few weeks ago and I gave one month notice to my current employer.
They are very upset and disappointed about my quitting and they are saying they can call to CIC and cancel my PR visa.

I applied through CEC, not through PNP or LMIA. Would it possible to happen what they said? I am confused.

If you have landed already as a PR, there is no more PR visa : ) Congratulations! You are a PR and your employer has no say whatsoever in the matter. For that threat to make any sense, you would have to provide more information on why you are actually concerned about it.

On the other hand, if you are upset about your employer's threats, YOU can report THEM.

Obviously, the ideal situation would be for everyone to calm down, and part on good terms (if possible).

Thanks for your reply. They are upset because they helped to issue reference letters and everything and now I want to leave their company after I became PR. They are saying they can call to CIC and disapprove my application if I do not want to stay longer.

I understand about their disappointment towards my leaving but I am upset about their attitude that trying to hold me by using their authority.

They have no authority. Counter threaten them that you will report their threats to authorities.

Thanks. I am seriously considering of doing it if they keep threatening me once again. This is really stressing me out.
Yes there is no need to stress yourself. It is really obnoxious of them to do this. Every person is entitled to move on in their career. They can't stop you.
