Refugee Travel Document Waiting

So We are waiting for my husbands refugee travel document and we travel this Saturday it’s our first family vacation and going anywhere since we came to Canada, we sent the application March 25 2024 ,2 weeks ago I called to get an update because I was getting worried and they told us that a letter was coming in the mail notifying us about sending in two new passport photos because my husbands original ones weren’t good. we sent it the same day by express mail. I asked for help from my local MP that same day as well and his office case worker emailed me right away and she’s been calling everyday and she gives me more detailed information than the agent (we have been calling IRCC everyday ) That was the 24th of April, it’s now the 30th and we were told by the caseworker the RTD was approved yesterday the 29th and will be sent soon. She said she would call today to push them since we travel in a few days. Today we called IRCC they said it’s still in process and in the final stage, and flagged as urgent, moments later I get an email from the caseworker that the RTD was being printed out , she’s calling again tomorrow to push for them to send it. I have been stressing for 2 weeks now, my husbands never been anywhere and it’s our first family vacation . Does anyone know once it’s being printed out if it’s sent out the same day? How long does it take by mail? I was told they send it by x press mail with Canada post.

You are so lucky to have it approved for a short time mine took 17 months to get it, Once approved it follows another process of in "line for sending out (mail)" so it depends with the officer but no one can tell you how long it will take. give it about 2 days because it will be sent by express mail.

Thank you so we called today again and they said it was sent out and we were given a tracking number but they didn’t say with what courier it was being mailed with? I checked the tracking number everywhere and nothing :/ I hope everything is good and it gets here by Friday

I believe its Canada post. Maybe its not activated yet. Maybe end of day.

just wait. Canada post has delays sometimes. you will probably get it within 7 days.

Very lucky!, does anyone knows after them sending the request for urgent application to the ircc office how long does they take to approve it as urgent?

They mailed it out yesterday with Canada post but Canada post has yet to pick it up. Tracking number is not showing anything . IRCC says it’s over night delivery. Fingers crossed. I suggest everyone waiting to contact their Local MP , it helped a lot to rush them.

did you apply for an urgent one? if not, did you write your travel date on the form?

Finally got tracking number for travel document applied in jan 2024.

It was sent to my address but nobody was there so now its at the post office behind my building.

URGENT!!!!! Hello, is anyone aware of the new address in Ottawa for RTD? and no longer Gatineau? i sent mine to Gatineau and later realized the address has changed from 200 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, QC J8X 4B7 to Crémazie 6th Floor (OSC) 365 Laurier Avenue West Ottawa ON K1A 1L1 . Will this be any issue? as mine has been delivered to Gatineau office. Please advice. Thanks
